The Tokyo Olympics were held in the summer, and a general election will take place this fall. In a city witnessing such changes, where are we, the so-called next generation, headed?<br \/>\nIn this program of performances, I have gathered artists to whom we wish to offer an opportunity to express their thoughts on the future.<br \/>\nWith a high degree of purity in each expressive style, the figure of the artists can be likened to the planets revolving around the \u201csun\u201d (the theme of this program), orbiting and sometimes passing one another.<br \/>\nThrough these microcosms that appear in the Spiral Hall, we hope to create a space where we can consider as a single urban community about questions such as what the definition of dance really is and what expression in society can mean, transcending the boundary between stage and audience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right\">Roma Hashimoto<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"program-artist\">Curator: Roma Hashimoto<br \/>\nPerformance: Aoitsuki, Yae Yamamichi\u00d7Megumi Abe, SHIMIZU MASH, Roma Hashimoto<\/div>\n<div class=\"program-box\"><strong>program<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Aoitsuki<br \/>\n\u201cwho\u3002\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ten years ago, in that place,<br \/>\nEveryone laughed at my words.<br \/>\nSo I glared at them. Adults, children.<br \/>\nAnd the age I\u2019m living in.<\/p>\n<p>Someone said it.<br \/>\nI hate that girl.<br \/>\nI don\u2019t like her, because she has rebellious eyes.<\/p>\n<p>Someone said it.<br \/>\nI hate that girl.<br \/>\nI don\u2019t like her, because she controls her own fate from birth with her words.<\/p>\n<p>If there is a back, there is a front; if there is a right, there is a left.<br \/>\nThis is a story of two people living in today\u2019s chaotic world who share a tacit understanding.<\/p>\n<p>Direction, Choreography and Performance: Aoiyamada, Tuki Takamura\uff08Aoitsuki\uff09<\/p>\n<div class=\"sen\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>Yae Yamamichi \u00d7 Megumi Abe<br \/>\n\u201cDance: Orochi -the myth of Great Serpent- Retold\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The legend of <em>Dojoji<\/em>, which tells of a woman who, out of jealousy, turns into a giant serpent and burns the man she loves with her own flames, is reconstructed in this work as a story about the young woman named Kiyohime by collaging together classical works such as \u201cKokin Wakashu,\u201d the Noh play \u201cKanemaki \u201d, and Chikamatsu Monzaemon\u2019s \u201cYomei Tenno Shokunin Kagami. \u201d  The story of the serpent and the woman, handed down since ancient times and reborn with each retelling, will be woven into the present through new <em>gidayu-bushi<\/em> songs, traditional Japanese music, and contemporary dance.<\/p>\n<p>Choreography and Performance: Megumi Abe<br \/>\nConcept, Songwriting, Composition,\u00a0and Direction: Yae Yamamichi<br \/>\nMusic and Narration:\u00a0Taro Yamamichi (J\u014druri\u00a0sung narrative), Yae Yamamichi (Futozao shamisen), Tosha Rokon (Hayashi\u00a0accompaniment), Yuka Mukaeda (bamboo flute)<br \/>\nMusical Direction:\u00a0Tosha Rokon (Hayashi\u00a0accompaniment), Kimiho Mochizuki (bamboo flute)<br \/>\nCostume Design: Hyugo Sato<\/p>\n<div class=\"sen\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>SHIMIZU MASH<br \/>\n\u201cPARANOIA\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A mental disorder in which the afflicted persistently maintains a certain delusion.<br \/>\nIts other name is paranoia.<br \/>\nAn illusion born from escape.<br \/>\nFear, madness, despair, and love.<br \/>\nI am a wretched soul swimming perpetually in a world of illusion.<br \/>\nMy illusions continue so that your solitude remains.<\/p>\n<p>Direction, Choreography and Performance: SHIMIZU MASH<\/p>\n<div class=\"sen\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>Roma Hashimoto<br \/>\n\u201cPan\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The word \u201cPan\u201d means \u201call\u201d in the Greek language.<br \/>\nStanding on the slope of a hill, the amphitheater in ancient Athens allowed the audience to watch the stage while looking down on the city in which they lived, seen in the background.<br \/>\nThe year 2021. Tokyo. The living beings known as \u201cyouths.\u201d The agitation created by their life in the city. The anxiety. The loneliness.<br \/>\nClenching their \u201call,\u201d twisting it in their pockets, these beings roam the streets again today.<br \/>\nThe place of responsibility.
